Symphonic Explorations

One of the best ways to enrich your experience at the symphony is to learn more about orchestral music and its composers. Levine offers stimulating, in-depth lectures prior to select Baltimore Symphony Orchestra concerts held at The Music Center at Strathmore.

Taught by Melinda Baird, chair of piano at Levine and Joel Friedman, Levine faculty lecturer, these lectures explore the historical context of the music being presented that evening and insight into the lives of the composers.

The 45-minute lectures, which are free to all ticket holders and meet before the selected performances at 7:00 PM in Room 309 at the Strathmore, followed by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra at 8:00 PM.  RSVP is required.  Links to rsvp for the individual pre concert lectures are found beneath each event listed below.  Please note that the links will redirect you to the BSO website, www.bsomusic.org

Interested concert-goers must rsvp by 5:00 PM on the Friday before the lecture to reserve seats. All reserved seats will be held until 6:50 PM the evening of the lecture, after which they will be released as general admission seating.
