Suzuki Guitar Instructor, part-time

The Position: 
Levine Music Suzuki Guitar Department is seeking a Suzuki Guitar instructor to teach at several campuses, starting in the fall 2022 semester. Saturday teaching availability is highly desirable. Candidates should be Suzuki Method certified (Book 1 or higher), highly organized and have experience teaching students of all ages with a broad range of abilities and backgrounds in both private and group class settings. Ideally, candidates should have a strong classical background and a Masters Degree in music performance or education, or equivalent experience. Although not necessary for this position, the ability to teach traditional guitar lessons is highly desirable. Applicants should have a strong understanding of the Suzuki philosophy, and have teaching experience with children of all ages, including 3+. (Applicants with less Suzuki training may be considered if they are highly qualified in other areas and willing to continue training, observation, and mentoring.)

Successful candidates will join a collegial team of teachers committed to teaching at the highest level, and will have the opportunity to become a full-time instructor as time, demand, and scheduling constraints allow. Performance opportunities may also be possible for those with strong performance backgrounds.

Compensation will be awarded according to qualifications and experience.
