The Position:

Levine Music is pleased to announce a part-time Violin Instructor position in the Strings Department, beginning September 2022.

Candidates should be experienced in teaching students with a broad range of abilities and backgrounds in private and group class settings. Ideally, candidates should have a strong classical background.

  • Violin/Viola Coach for the Silver Spring String Orchestra Program. Rehearsals on Saturdays 12:45-2:30pm.
  • Private lesson instruction at the NWDC, Silver Spring, or Strathmore Campuses on Saturdays
  • Additional weekday private lesson instruction at Silver Spring.
  • Experience setting up students from the beginning and creating a strong technical foundation.
  • Comfortable teaching advanced violin repertoire. 
  • Potential partnership group instruction in SEDC

A BM in Performance or Education required, MM in Performance or Education or equivalent teaching experience with children of all ages is required. Applicants should possess a love of music, teaching, and children as well as the desire to nurture and shape the lives of young musicians.

Performance opportunities may also be possible for successful candidates with strong performance backgrounds.

Compensation will be awarded according to qualifications and experience.
