We are pleased to announce Karen Ballotta as Levine Music’s new Vice President of Development. Following an extensive national search led by Good Insight, she will begin her new role on September 3, 2024. Karen joins Levine from National Cathedral School, where she was Director of Development for Individual Giving. As Vice President of Development, Karen will join a dedicated leadership team intent on realizing a bold strategic vision, including the opening of a new Northern Virginia campus in 2025 and Levine Music’s milestone 50th anniversary in 2026.
“As we realize our latest strategic plan, Inspire 50, and head toward our 50th anniversary in 2026, Levine Music will be tremendously served by Karen’s expertise and dedication,” said Jeffery Tribble Jr., President and CEO.
Karen Ballotta holds Juris Doctor and Master of Theological Studies degrees from Emory University. As a lawyer, Ballotta practiced at the Washington, DC office of Covington & Burling. There, she developed an interest in mentoring junior attorneys, which led her to Georgetown University, where she advised pre-law undergraduates as part of the career services team.
After a successful career in law, her transition to institutional advancement was sparked by years as a parent volunteer in her daughters’ schools. She previously held development roles at Parkmont School and McLean School. In her spare time, she enjoys visiting DC museums and Delaware beaches.
“I am thrilled by the opportunity to make Levine Music’s education and opportunities available to more people throughout the capital region,” said Karen. “As a former Levine parent and a childhood musician, this is a chance to return to my earliest passions and help others experience the arts.”
