Alex Berti received his Bachelors in Bass Performance and Music Education from the Institute of Music Studies, in Caracas Venezuela.

Performance and Teaching Experience

Since 2011 Alex has been part of The Miami Music Project serving as the Lead Bass Instructor and also as the Conductor of the Leaders Orchestra and is also the Lead Double bass Instructor at New World School of the Arts.

Alex is also an active composer and arranger; he held the position of Composer in Residence of the Miami Symphony Orchestra and also Director of the MISO Big Band. He was selected to be part of the jury for Cintas Foundation Composer’s Competition 2014.

Alex was granted the position of Children’s Orchestra Manager, and Conductor of Young Virtuosi, and The Repertory Orchestra ensembles and also as a Double Bass Teacher in the District of Columbia Youth Orchestra Program where he worked from September 2017 to January 2019.

At Levine

Alex joined the Levine faculty in the summer of 2019 and currently teaches Orchestra Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and Chamber Orchestra and teaches private lessons in Double Bass, Strings, and Guitar.
