Flute, Suzuki Flute
Rebecca Carey received her M.M. in Flute Performance from Northwestern University and and B.M. in Flute Performance from The Ohio State University. She is the youngest Western flute graduate from the Talent Education Research Institute (Matsumoto, Japan).
Performance and Teaching Experience
Rebecca has taught in Ohio, Kansas, Illinois, the Washington Metro area and via Skype. She is the Director of the Jonathan Snowden International Flute School, a co-director of SAGWA Flute Institute, a member of Suzuki Association of the Americas, the National Flute Association and the Flute Society of Washington. She has served on local and national boards in a variety of capacities.
Rebecca has been on the Levine faculty since 2000, where she has been a member of the Wind and Theory Departments as well as the Suzuki Flute Department. She teaches Suzuki and traditional flute to children and adults from beginner to advanced levels, conducts flute sectionals for the New Horizon Band program, and she serves as the Executive Assistant to the President & CEO, Jeff Tribble.
