Guitar Ensemble Workshop with Clarice Assad

Composer Clarice Assad will be coaching our Advanced Guitar Ensemble, who is performing her piece Magnetic Trance. In Assad’s own words, “Magnetic Trance combines hints of minimalism with special sonic effects to enhance its semi-hypnotic state, which never actually comes to exist, since it is interjected by “stressed out” moments, shifting the mood of the piece to other emotional states. Special sound effects are produced by the voice and the body and utilizes some extended techniques for the guitar.”
