While still practicing the art of sound, silence began to envelope composers Beethoven and Faure. As each artist developed more and more hearing loss, neither gave up writing music. Discover the Piano Trios these composers wrote despite never being able to hear them on acoustic instruments and explore the sense of unbridled hope they both contain. This program will feature Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Trio in E-flat Major, Opus 70 (“Ghost”) and Gabriel Faure’s Piano Trio in d minor, Opus 120.
