In a fun and supportive orchestra environment, adult musicians develop string technique and experience the thrill of making music with friends! In addition to weekly rehearsals, there are further opportunities to work with guest musicians. Musicians also work with Levine faculty members covering both ensemble music and technique basics. The session concludes with a culminating performance for family and friends.

Levine’s Adult String Ensemble is open to adults who have studied a string instrument (violin, viola, cello, bass) for at least one year and can read music.

NEW IN SESSION 2! There will be two tracks to serve musicians of varying levels. All musicians will meet in full rehearsal for the first hour and split into two chamber orchestras for the remaining 30 minutes to work on additional repertoire. Levine Faculty will coach the chamber orchestras weekly.

Please note: Students who have not completed Levine’s fall beginner technique class should contact the instructor before enrolling. Students must acquire their own instruments. Levine Music will provide a list of instrument rental locations prior to the start of the session.

For more information or to receive approval to join, please contact Nicoletta Moss Miller (Ensemble Director) at nmoss@levinemusic.org or Patrick LeStrange (Strings Department Chair) at plestrange@levinemusic.org.
