The Levine Philharmonic Orchestra (LPO) is open to intermediate and advanced adult string, wind, brass, and percussion players. In addition to rehearsing and performing a variety of traditional classical, romantic, opera, theater and cinema, symphonic pop, exploratory, and non-traditional literature in a full orchestra setting, students also have regular workshop and clinic opportunities with Levine and community music educators, musicians, and leaders.

When registering, please provide a brief description of your performance experience and instrument study. This is essential information for the Music Director to prepare for the ensemble. You may fill out the brief form here.

Please note: This is a yearlong ensemble. Registrations are accepted on a rolling basis with the approval of the Music Director. No auditions required. Suggested minimal requirements to play in the ensemble for each instrument are – Strings: Completion of Suzuki Book 4 or 5 level and the ability to play in or feel comfortable learning all key signatures or at least up to 5 sharps and flats and 2-3 octave major and minor scales; Winds and Brass: At least 3-5 years of experience and the ability to play 2-octave scales up to 4 or 5 sharps and flats; Percussionists: Familiarity with timpani, snare drum, mallet and auxiliary instruments.

Please contact the Music Director with any questions about the program: JoAnna Cochenet-Gallastegui, jcochenet@levinemusic.org
