This program will educate young people about jazz singing, culture, and the history that surrounds it. Guided by choir director and educator Alison Crockett, we’ll be singing music born and allied with jazz, such as gospel, bossa nova, R&B, and the blues. We’ll learn the basics of groove, swing, lyrical phrasing, proper vocal technique, and beginning jazz theory and harmony. Students will perform in a concert at the end of the semester
