Examine the American songbook from Yankee Doodle to Billie Holiday’s Strange Fruit; from Bob Dylan’s Oxford Town to Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On and all the way to Kendrick Lamar’s Alright. This songwriting course focuses on both the history and creation of political songs. Special guest speakers, artists, and community leaders are featured during the class!
