Maybe you aren’t going to be able to vacation in Hawaii this year, but you can capture that “Aloha!” spirit right here in Washington, D.C. by learning to play Hawaii’s iconic instrument – the ukulele! This morning workshop is designed for absolute beginners.
The session begins by learning the basics of the ukulele – parts of the instrument, tuning, beginning chords and simple strums. After a short break, participants learn how to play almost any song with just a few chords! You’ll be amazed at how much you’ll be able to play after this workshop! Participants can continue their learning in September in our Ukulele for Teens and Adult Class or private lessons.
This experience will take place IN-PERSON, INDOORS. Students in this class must show proof of vaccination in order to participate. See the Return to Campus Guide for more info.
Please note: Students will be provided with a ukulele, or if they wish, can bring their own ukulele tuned to GCEA. For more information, please contact Risa Carlson, Guitar Department Chair, at (202) 686-8000 x1104 or email@example.com.
