Virginia Sinfonietta Orchestra

String Orchestra at Virginia, Intermediate, is open to string (violin, viola, cello, bass) students in the beginning stages of their musical journey. Students should be able to play on two to three strings, using at least three to four fingers. Our rehearsals will focus on performance and the development of ensemble skills with significant emphasis on the development of individual techniques relating to each instrument (violin, viola, cello, or bass). In addition to full-ensemble coaching, there will be occasional sectionals. Two concerts are presented each year.
