Tango Time Workshop
February 6 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm EST
Tango is a music tradition that has been living both on the streets of Buenos Aires and as a global phenomenon for over 100 years. With it comes a rich history of string playing, techniques, and sounds which stretch far beyond the bounds of classical music and even of the Italian violinists who brought their ideas to the genre after the turn of the century. Spend a day exploring a new realm of tones, articulations, rhythms, effects, and ideas on your instrument with cellist Maxfield Wollam-Fisher and Bandoneonist Heyni Solera, who together form the duo Arco y Aire, are members of Da Capo Tango Orchestra, and have studied and performed tango in the US, Argentina, and around the world. The duo will teach techniques and musicality to get you going towards a life in tango and help you get the most out of your instrument in any genre you pursue.
