A musical retreat for adult beginning and intermediate string players, this program combines a variety of learning topics and playing opportunities into one event! The program has two tracks to consider multiple skill-levels (see below). The weekend includes technical skill work on our instruments, musical topic sessions, music theory basics and review, and jam session reading. This summer’s theme will be Strings on Broadway.
9:30 AM – 4 PM Early Beginner (within the first few months to 1 year of playing) Beginner players attend the introduction course and can be exempt from (or participate as an observer) in other classes beyond their level. Music reading ability or fluency is not required. Players must bring their own instrument.
10:30 AM – 4 PM Late Beginner-Intermediate (1-2 years+ of playing) Participants are fully immersed in all elements of the program. Players must bring their own instrument. It is highly recommended to have music-reading skills to get the most out of this program.
