Jazz Piano
Education
Aleks received his Bachelors of Music in Jazz Studies from Arizona State University and is currently pursuing his masters, also at ASU. He has also attended Ravinia’s Steans Music Institute and Brooklyn Conservatory’s School for Improvised Music.
Performing Experience
Aleks started playing jazz piano gigs at the age of sixteen and has since been featured at premier jazz clubs, including The Nash and Ravenscroft in Phoenix, AZ, as well as An Die Musik, Twins Jazz, The Kennedy Center, and with the Maryland Symphony Orchestra.
Aleks was a featured composer at the OhMyEars Music Festival in Phoenix, AZ, and his solo piano album, released in 2021, was featured as a best-selling jazz recording on Bandcamp.
Teaching Experience
Aleks has taught private lessons for twelve years, both at various studios in the Phoenix, AZ area as well as right here in the DC area.
At Levine
Aleks joined our faculty in 2022 and teaches Jazz Piano Class and coaches Jazz Combos.

More About Aleks
When not indulging in Ruffles Cheddar and Sour Cream chips, his favorite snack, Aleks is an avid hiker. In fact, he’s hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon three times!
