Education

Dr. Britton Riley received his BM in Cello Performance and Music Industry Certificate from the University of Southern California and his MM and DMA in Cello Performance from the University of Michigan.

In addition, Britton was a Rebanks Fellow at the Royal Conservatory of Music and participated in the New York String Orchestra Seminar, Banff Summer Music Festival, Le Domaine Forget Chamber Music Festival, Weimarer Meisterkurse, and St. Lawrence String Quartet Seminar.

Performing Experience

Britton has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, Gateways Festival Orchestra, and Banff Festival Orchestra. He has appeared at the Wintergreen Music Festival, Colorado Music Festival, and the Sunflower Music Festival.

Teaching Experience

Before joining Levine, Britton was a Teaching Assistant to Richard Aaron at the University of Michigan, served as guest faculty at The Royal Conservatory of Music, New World Symphony, University of Toronto, and University of Colorado Boulder.

He was a Chamber and Orchestral Coach at Mount Royal University, held positions at the Calgary Youth Orchestras, Alberta Youth Orchestra Symposium at the Banff Centre, and was part of the NSO SMI Cello Faculty. Britton also served as Artistic Director of Chamber Music at New Park.
