At Levine
Heidi has been with the Levine faculty since 2011 teaching private flute instruction and the 2014-2015 Flute Choir Jam Sessions.
“My favorite thing about Levine is the diversity of programs and extra activities offered make it an exciting place to teach and provide a high quality music educational environment for students.”
Teaching Philosophy and Approach
“In addition to teaching fundamental skills for flute technique and performance, I work with students on setting goals and developing a practice approach that fits with their schedule and leads to measurable progress. Lessons are balanced between developing technique and musical expression through etudes, standard repertoire, sight reading and coaching on ensemble or audition music. Students are encouraged to perform and develop at their own pace and to participate in the Levine recitals, juries, ensembles and music opportunities in their community and school.”
Personal
When not teaching and playing the flute, Heidi enjoys spending her time cooking and participating in water sports including scuba diving and swimming.
