Education

Matt received a B.M. in Education from The University of Southern Mississippi and a M.M. from The Boston Conservatory. He also holds a certification from the McClosky Institute of Voice.

Performance and Teaching Experience

Matt has experience performing with various choirs, chamber ensembles, operas, and orchestras throughout the South and the East Coast.

Matt has teaching experience as a private vocal instructor since 2002 and as an adjunct professor at Westfield State University from 2005 to 2016.

At Levine

Matt has taught voice at Levine since September, 2018.

Teaching Philosophy and Approach

“Most people have limitations on their voice due to undue muscular tension. When this tension is resolved, the voice becomes a more effective tool for expression, and it becomes more healthy, as well. Your voice has much more longevity and is more dependable with healthy vocal technique.”
