Megan is a board-certified music therapist, a licensed practicing music therapist in Maryland, and was a Music Therapy Intern at Fairfax County Public Schools. Megan has practicum experience in public elementary schools, palliative care, and individual and group telehealth.

Performing Experience

Performed at Carnegie Hall with Radford University’s Radford Singers.
Performed with National Symphony Orchestra and Baltimore Symphony Orchestra with University of Maryland’s University Chorale.

Teaching Experience

Provided piano, voice, music theory, and adaptive piano lessons at Music and Arts.

Additional Experience

Megan is also a steering committee member for the Asian Music Therapy Network – US, and has provided therapeutic harp music at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. She has completed Institutional Review Board approved research on the “Educational Experiences of Hong Kong Cantonese Identifying Music Therapists and Music Therapy Students”, and also completed her case study on the “Relationship Between Diatonic Modes and Emotions with Adolescents in an Alternative Public Day School Setting”. Megan has also pursued research on the “Practice and Perceptions of University Music Students’ Experiences with Music Performance Anxiety.”

Teaching Philosophy

“Music is used to create and strengthen relationships with people and themselves. Based on my client’s goals and needs, I help and guide my clients in building and strengthening these relationships through music.”

“I enjoy spending my time outdoors in nature, traveling, and occasionally playing video games.”
