Education
Seth received his BM in Cello Performance from Brigham Young University and MM and DMA in Cello Performance from the University of Maryland.
Performance and Teaching Experience
Seth is a cellist, viola da gambist, and composer and has performed with the Alexandria Symphony, Apollo Chamber Orchestra, Saint Andrew Parish Orchestra, and various chamber ensembles in the DC metro area. Seth has soloed with the BYU Philharmonic, performing Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations, and was finalist in the UMD Concerto Competition with the Dvorak Cello Concerto in B minor, in 2011. Seth’s cello playing has taken him to several summer music festivals, including the National Orchestral Institute, Chautauqua, and Kent/Blossom Music. Seth has enjoyed developing a Baroque aesthetic through his studies with Kenneth Slowik and participation in Oberlin Conservatory’s Baroque Performance Institute and performing with the Levine Baroque Trio.
He enjoys teaching cello students both in his private studio and at Levine Music.
