Loeffler Alumni Series: Fedor Ouspensky, violin

October 18, 2020 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm EDT

Free

Join us for a performance with Levine alumnus Fedor Ouspensky, violin with Anna Ouspenskaya and Igor Zubkovsky. The program will include Beethoven’s Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 5, Op 24 in F Major, Spring, Franck’s Sonata for Violin and Piano in A Major and selections of themes from Star Wars (John Williams) and Lord of the Rings (Howard Shore).

Fedor studied at Levine from 2005-11 where he won the Cogen Concerto Competition and was the recipient of a Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship. He then studied at The Juilliard School with Naoko Tanaka. In 2012 and 2013 Fedor was invited by Maestro Lorin Maazel to join the first violins section in the Castleton Festival Orchestra, the youngest ever musician to hold a position in that orchestra. He has performed publicly at such prestigious venues as Carnegie Weill Recital Hall in New York and the Kennedy Center. Fedor is a devout promoter of classical music: in 2009 he became one of the founding performer-members of Arts Are For All Ages, a non-profit organization in the Washington DC area, which provided classical music concerts to retirement communities. In addition, Fedor teaches violin and coaches students for youth and school orchestra audition.
