Levine Music Theatre Group Classes

Levine Music Theatre group classes provide musical theatre training for students of all ages. Students will receive training in voice, acting, movement, and music. Students will discover the strategies they need to feel successful on stage.

Any student enrolled in a group class may audition for the LMT production that semester.

First Musical 1 (Ages 3 – 5)
First Musical 2 (Ages 5 – 7)

Meets weekly in person for 45 minutes.

First Musical serves as the building blocks to participation in Levine Music Theatre. In this class, we will use dramatic play to introduce elements of musical theatre including song, dance, and character building. Students will work together to explore familiar stories incorporating musical elements. They will learn the basics of performing in front of an audience, story structure, character traits, movement, and music all while increasing social skills and reinforcing classroom behavior.

Musical Theatre (Elementary)
(Grades 3-5)

Meets weekly in person for 90 minutes.

This class provides students in 3rd through 5th grade with a space to learn the disciplines of musical theatre. Students will be introduced to movement, voice, acting, and music. They will learn the process of being in the rehearsal room, working as an ensemble and performing for an audience. Students will have the opportunity to work with guest instructors from LMT and the professional theatre community. There will be a formal in-class presentation at the end of each session

Musical Theatre (for Middle School)
(Grades 6-8)

Meets once a week for 90-minute classes.

For middle school students of all experience levels interested in expanding their knowledge and skills across the disciplines of Music Theatre. Students work with our award-winning, professional LMT faculty to grow their skills in dance, voice, and acting while creating a strong sense of ensemble. There will be a formal in-class presentation at the end of each session

Musical Theatre (for High School)
(Grades 9-12)

Meets once a week for 2 hours.

For students of all experience levels interested in expanding their knowledge and skills across the disciplines of Music Theatre. Classes meets once a week, and are divided into Voice, Acting, Dance, and Musicianship. Students explore a variety of styles and skills with our professional, award-winning LMT faculty. There will be a formal in-class presentation at the end of each session

Adult Music Theatre Ensemble
(Adults)

Meets weekly in person for 2 hours.

For students of all experience levels interested in expanding their knowledge and skills across the disciplines of Music Theatre, whether stepping on stage for the first time, a seasoned veteran, or anything in between – we work together to build an ensemble that grows and learns through dance, voice, and acting. Students also have additional opportunities for master classes from local and national professionals in the industry and insight into the DC theatre scene. There will be a formal in-class presentation at the end of each session

Music Theatre Dance (Senior)

Students of all levels will be exposed to music theatre jazz dance technique through warm-ups, across the floor and a dance combination. Musical Theatre dance includes technique in jazz, hip hop, ballet, and tap. Session 2 will focus on tap dance. There will be an in-class presentation at the end of each session showcasing the skills learned.
