Turn your summer into an unforgettable piano adventure!
PianoFest is a weeklong musical experience for advanced piano students. We’ll learn through daily lessons with Levine faculty, master classes and seminars with guest artists, ensemble and solo performances, as well as musical field trips to the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian museums, and the Wolf Trap. A teacher’s recommendation is required. Non-Levine students will be asked to submit a sample video.

PianoFest Schedule:
1 – 1:30 PM: Group technique class
1:30-4:30 PM: Lessons, ensemble rehearsals, coaching
4:30-5:30 PM: Dinner break
5:30-6:30 PM: Practice, sight reading class
6:30-8:00 PM: Concert/presentation by guest artist

Our 2025 Summer Pianofest Guest Artist will be Steven Spooner.

Steven Spooner is Professor of Piano at the Peabody Institute, and previously at the Juilliard School (Pre-college). He has studied at the Tbilisi Conservatory, Moscow Conservatory, and Indiana University.

Spooner has served on the faculty of many of the most prestigious summer festivals and is increasingly in demand for his insightful masterclasses at leading conservatories across the globe. He is Artistic Director of the Chicago International Competition and Festival and often serves on juries of international competitions. A dedicated and caring teacher of students from around the world, he has formed winners of multiple prizes at important international competitions. Steven Spooner is a Steinway Artist.

Enrollment Deadline: March 1, 2025
Repertoire requirements: students should prepare 2-3 solo pieces and will be assigned one ensemble work (communicated by June 1)

Tuition: $1,200 for non-Levine student, $1,000 for Levine student
