Elementary school students of all experience levels meet once a week to expand their knowledge and skills across the disciplines of Music Theatre. We’ll pick up new skills in voice, acting, and dance while learning how to rehearse, work as an ensemble, and perform for an audience. There will be an in-class presentation at the end of each session.
Session 1 – Disney
We will be working on music from Disney’s most beloved Broadway musicals, such as The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Frozen, and so many more! We will play theatre games and learn about choreography, telling the story, and working as an ensemble. Our final showcase will feature all of our students in fun Disney group numbers!
Session 2 – Singing in the Rain
Our second session, we will be singing and dancing in the rain! Through acting games and group numbers, we will explore the material from the classic musical, Singing in the Rain. We will work on storytelling, choreography, and even a little bit of tap dancing! Our final showcase will be a mini-Singing in the Rain concert that will feature all of our students!
Session 3 – High School Musical(s)!
In our last session, we will focus on music from the early 2000’s classics, High School Musical 1, 2, and 3! Through showstopping group numbers, and fun acting games, we will work on our storytelling and choreography skills! Our final showcase will feature all students in group numbers from the three movies!
