Young string players (violin, viola, cello, bass) with no playing experience are introduced to their instruments through this rewarding orchestral experience. Our group environment has proven to be an encouraging opportunity for young beginners. We’ll learn the basics of our instrument’s technique (violin, viola, or cello) and present two concerts each year.
Levine faculty lead technique classes, sectionals, and full-ensemble rehearsals while teaching proper posture, set-up, rhythm, and note reading. Although students and parents can indicate their instrument of preference, faculty members help choose the student’s instrument during the interview and provide information on renting the assigned instrument.
