Levine’s Turning 50!
One of the ways we’re commemorating this milestone is by collecting your stories. To get us started, Levine alumna Pallavi Mahidhara shared one of her favorite Levine performance memories as a piano student 25 years ago.
Throughout 2026, we’re celebrating Levine’s 50th anniversary and we’d love for your voice to be part of it.
Now It’s Your Turn!
We invite all current students, alumni, parents, faculty, and friends to record a short video using the prompt below telling us about your favorite Levine memory. All submissions will be preserved in our digital archive, and select stories may be featured on Levine’s social media or during anniversary events.
Don’t forget to include:
- Your name
- Your relationship to Levine
(current student, alumni, parent, friend, etc.) - If you were a student or parent:
- Your instrument and teacher
- Any classes you took
- When you studied
Check out our additional tips for recording below.
Tips for Recording Your Levine Story Video
- Choose a Quiet Space
- Record in a quiet area where background noise (TV, music, traffic, pets) won’t distract.
- Use a Plain Background
- A simple wall or uncluttered space keeps the focus on you.
- Avoid bright windows behind you (they’ll make you look like a shadow).
- Check Your Lighting
- Face a window or lamp so your face is evenly lit.
- Avoid sitting directly under a harsh overhead light.
- Stabilize Your Camera
- Place your phone or laptop on a steady surface at eye level.
- If you’re holding your phone in your hand, try to keep it still.
- Frame Yourself Well
- Position yourself so your head and shoulders fill most of the screen.
- Leave a little space above your head (not too much ceiling).
- Mind the Sound
- Speak clearly and a little slower than usual.
- Keep It Natural
- Smile, be yourself, and imagine you’re talking to a friend.
- It doesn’t need to be perfect — warmth and sincerity matter most.
- Length
- Aim for 1–3 minutes. Short and heartfelt is best!
