Teen Apprentice Program
Teen Apprentice Program
Camp Levine’s Teen Apprentice program is a great way for pre-teens and teens in rising 7th – 12th grade to learn new skills, stay involved with the camp community, and earn volunteer hours.
The Teen Apprentice Program consists of responsible, mature, and enthusiastic junior high and high school students who assist groups of campers, support teachers in the classroom, learn effective techniques for working with children, and put their love of music and the arts to use. Teen Apprentices do not need to have any musical knowledge or previous experience with Camp Levine or Levine Music.
Teen Apprentices:
- Share their love of music and the arts and expand their knowledge.
- Work with excellent teachers and assist in classrooms/studios.
- Develop leadership skills through training and practical experience.
- Learn effective techniques for working with children.
- Meet Student Service Learning (SSL) requirements.
- Earn an incredible experience to add to a resume or college application.
Interested teens must complete the online registration before completing the application.

Responsibilities
Teen Apprentices generally work with a group of 10-12 campers. Older TAs travel with these teams of campers throughout the day, encouraging and guiding participation. Some Teen Apprentices are given student teaching opportunities, where they can learn from a faculty member and assist with classroom/studio lessons and activities.
Teen Apprentices are expected to:
- Help ensure the safey of 10-12 campers as they move throughout the building to attend various music & arts based activites.
- Assist teachers with classroom management and behavior, uphold the teacher expectations for the classroom, and engage with campers during each activity to encourage participation.
- Communicate with their fellow TAs, Camp Staff and Faculty, and Levine staff in a respectful manner.
Younger Teen Apprentices (rising 7th and 8th graders) are placed with Pre-K/Kindergarten classes who remain with the same teacher throughout the day and camp session.
Teen Leads (TL) are returning Teen Apprentices who have previously received excellent evaluations from their site staff. Teen Leads are expected to guide younger TAs and assist with leading teen activities, including the final performance.
