As part of Levine Music’s 50th Anniversary celebration, we’ve been reflecting on the people and stories that have shaped our community over the years.
Catherine Hammes‘ Levine story began at age seven and has come full circle as a member of our Student Services team. Over the years, she experienced Levine as a camper, private lesson student, teen apprentice, and Camp Levine staff member, a journey that made returning after college to begin her career feel like a natural next step.
For Catherine, Levine was more than a place to learn music; it was where she discovered the possibilities of a life in music. “Levine really provided me a stage to see what a career in music could be like,” she says. Through the teachers, mentors, and colleagues she met along the way, she gained not only musical skills but also a deeper understanding of music education, arts administration, and the many ways music can shape a life and a profession.
