Education
Akiko received a B.M. in Biological Science from the University of Tokyo. She holds a Graduate Performance Diploma in Guitar Performance and Chamber Music from the Peabody Institute, where she studied under Manuel Barrueco.
Performance and Teaching Experience
Akiko is a member of the Aurora Guitar Quartet, the Sumi Guitar Duo, and the duoMare, which features flutist Rachel Choe. She debuted at Carnegie Hall in 2002 with the Aurora Guitar Quartet.
