Jeffrey-TribbleWe are pleased to announce the appointment of Jeffery L. Tribble, Jr. as Levine Music’s President & CEO effective July 1, 2021. He succeeds Peter Jablow who retires at the end of June, concluding an 18-year tenure of distinguished leadership.

Jeffery Tribble, named in 2016 as one of Magic Johnson’s 32 Under 32 and as a Black Enterprise Magazine BE Modern Man, is a musician with a more than a dozen years’ experience in music education in the D.C. area. He is the Founding Executive Director of D.C. area non-profit The MusicianShip, which for the past twelve years has been devoted to changing lives through music by providing lessons, experiences, and opportunities for underserved communities in four countries. Under Jeffery’s leadership, The MusicianShip acquired The Washington Youth Choir, the Wammie Awards, and the D.C. Funk Parade, preserving music institutions that bring joy to tens of thousands of D.C. residents and visitors each year.

“We are absolutely thrilled that Jeffery is coming on board. He is a visionary leader with deep ties within the D.C. arts community,” said Levine Music Board Chair Craig Benson. “He is uniquely positioned to lead Levine Music as we continue to be a leading center for music education in the national capital region.”

Tribble is a graduate of The George Washington University Law School. He received his undergraduate degree in legal communications from Howard University, which he attended on a four-year music scholarship. At Howard, he was a Percussion Section Leader for the Howard University Showtime Marching Band. Over the course of his career, he gained extensive experience in operations, fundraising, programming, marketing and communications. He spent seven years as a Contract Administrator with Microsystems Automation Group while at the same time catapulting The MusicianShip from serving two students in 2009 to reaching nearly 2,000 in 2021.

“Living in D.C. for now 17 years, I have always looked up to Levine Music and the indelible mark they have made across this region’s music education landscape. I am excited to work alongside Levine Music’s extremely talented team to continue the legacy of excellence that has changed thousands of lives in its 45-year history,” said Tribble.

Following Peter Jablow’s retirement announcement as CEO, the Levine Music board appointed a committee to launch a rigorous national search to find a successor. “Jeffery emerged as a stand-out from a pool of enormously talented candidates,” said Benson. “We are excited to see how he will build on the tremendous foundation that Peter has provided during his tenure as he expanded our campuses, diversified our programming, and launched a highly successful music therapy program.”

Peter Jablow, Levine’s retiring CEO added, “I am delighted to welcome Jeffery Tribble to Levine Music. From our very first meeting, Jeff impressed me as an outstanding leader. His deep passion for music, his creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, and his commitment to the Washington area community make him the right person to guide our dedicated faculty, board, and staff as they design an exciting next chapter for Levine Music.”

Stan Spracker, Levine Music’s President since 2018, who will continue part-time as Levine’s General Counsel, welcomed Jeffery as well. “Jeffery will build on the legacy of Levine’s founders and the strong foundation established by Peter Jablow. I am excited to help him create and realize a strategic vision for Levine’s future.”

A native of Chicago, Jeffery Tribble resides in the District of Columbia with his wife, BreAnna Davis Tribble, and their newborn son.
