Education

Alex Aucoin is an active percussion performer and teacher in the Washington, DC metro area. He received a B.M. in Music Education from Stephen F. Austin University (TX) and a M.M. in Percussion Performance from The University of North Carolina School of the Arts.

Performance and Teaching Experience

Alex previously performed in orchestras and taught in public schools in Texas and North Carolina before coming to Washington, D.C. in 2011. While continuing to teach with DC Public Schools and privately, he focused his performance career on musical theatre and quickly became a regular at many theatres around town. He has had the pleasure of being in the orchestra for productions at Olney Theatre Center, Woolly Mammoth Theatre, and Keegan Theatre among many others.
