Violin, Viola

Education

Brian received his BM in Viola Performance from Oberlin College and Conservatory before going on to earn his MM in Viola Performance from the University of Maryland. He also attended the National Orchestral Institute and the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival.

As a Performer

Brian has appeared as a section violist with the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra and a substitute violist with the Apollo Orchestra and Fairfax Symphony Orchestra. He has also served as Guest Artist Principal Violist and Principal Second Violist with the Anne Arundel Community College Orchestra.

Teaching Philosophy

I believe in making music fun for all of my students! I like to get to know my students individually and find what they relate to the most–this way, I can help my students find their own personal connection to music. Not only does this help my students master the technique of their instruments, it also helps them develop a deep appreciation of music and learn how to express themselves through their playing.
