Education
Dr. Ching-Yi Lin earned a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Soochow University and both a Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University.
Performing Experience
Born in Taiwan, Ching-Yi swiftly established himself after winning the First Prize and Commissioned Prize at the Taipei International Piano Competition. He had his New York debut at the Weill Recital Hall in 2019 for the New York International Artist Association Competition, and was awarded Third Prize for his performance. Most recently, Ching-Yi received the Second Prize at the 2022 Texas State International Piano Competition, performing with the Central Texas Philharmonic. He also received the Third Prize at the 2019 Marbella International Piano Competition.
An active performer in North America, Spain and Taiwan, Ching-Yi has been featured as a guest soloist at Teatro Ciudad de Marbella, Centro Municipal de Musica y Danza de Malaga, Brodbeck Music Center Hood College, Patti Strickel Harrison Theatre, Allen Theater at Berkshire, Mariam A. Friedberg Concert Hall at Baltimore, the New York Opera Center, National Concerto Hall, and the KHS hall in Taiwan.
His other significant prizes in both regional and international competitions include the Beethoven International Piano Competition in Singapore, Millersville International Piano Competition, Young Artist Competition by Philharmonic Society of Arlington, Metropolitan International Piano Competition, New York International Artist Association Competition, and the Wonderlic Piano Competition in Baltimore. In 2017, he was awarded the winner of the Taiwanese Chapter of the Johns Hopkins University Alumni Society at the Peabody Institute.
Teaching Experience
A vivid music educator, Ching-Yi has been appointed as a faculty associate at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. He has also been a faculty member of the Kirov International Music Festival since 2021.

Ching-Yi joined the Levine faculty in the fall of 2022 and teaches individual piano lessons.
