Education
Dawoon received her MM in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. Before that, she completed her undergraduate studies in piano performance at Boston Conservatory.
Performance Experience
Dawoon has enjoyed a flourishing musical career through solo recitals, chamber recitals, competitions, workshops, festivals, and accompaniments throughout the United States. During her undergraduate studies, Dawoon also served as a chorus accompanist, where she gained a wealth of experience in different music genres.
Teaching Experience
In addition to teaching private lessons throughout the DC region, Dawoon has taught at Thomas Johnson Elementary Middle School.
At Levine
Dawoon joined our piano faculty in 2022.
Philosophy
Dawoon’s goal is to help students develop their piano skills and help them become creative musicians, able to express their emotions through music.
I believe inspiration and practice are essential tools to musical success. I would like my students to be inspired by music.
