Previous performance experience includes the National Flute Association (NFA) Professional Flute Choir at the 2009 National Convention and the Woodbridge Flute Choir at the 2011 and 2013 National Flute Conventions.
Heidi is published in Flute Talk magazine and maintains a private flute studio in Washington, DC.
At Levine
Heidi has been with the Levine faculty since 2011 teaching private flute instruction and the 2014-2015 Flute Choir Jam Sessions.
“My favorite thing about Levine is the diversity of programs and extra activities offered, which make it an exciting place to teach and provide a high-quality music educational environment for students.”
Teaching Philosophy and Approach
“In addition to teaching fundamental skills for flute technique and performance, I work with students on setting goals and developing a practice approach that fits with their schedule and leads to measurable progress. Lessons are balanced between developing technique and musical expression through etudes, standard repertoire, sight reading and coaching on ensemble or audition music. Students are encouraged to perform and develop at their own pace and to participate in the Levine recitals, juries, ensembles and music opportunities in their community and school.”
