Education
Miho holds a Bachelor’s degree from Osaka Music University in Piano Performance with a minor in Music Education. She also completed a specialized course in education and obtained a teaching license in music in Japan.
As a Performer
Miho has enjoyed an active performing career and has appeared with the Los Angeles Ballet, Westside School of Ballet in Santa Monica, and the Pasadena Ballet, as well as at Santa Monica College and throughout the Los Angeles area.
As a Teacher
Miho had her own studio for 20 years in Los Angeles, CA where she worked with students ranging from age 4 and up. She’s an active member of the Royal Conservatory of Music, and her students have been awarded First Class of Honors with Distinction and invited to the Winner Concert at USC.
Miho served as a General Music Teacher at St. Joseph’s School in Hawthorne, CA, imparting her expertise to students from Kindergarten to 8th grade for a period of three years. During her tenure, she not only conducted comprehensive music education but also had the privilege of guiding the school choir. Her commitment to fostering a love for music in young minds and cultivating a rich musical environment makes her right at home at Levine Music. She brings a wealth of experience and passion for nurturing musical skills, ensuring a holistic and engaging educational experience for students under her guidance.
Teaching Philosophy
With more than 25 years of experience as a piano educator across Japan and the United States, Miho’s teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that music transcends borders. Guiding students through a multicultural musical journey, she cultivates a genuine passion for the piano. In her classes, she prioritizes fostering a deep connection with the instrument, encouraging artistic expression, and tailoring lessons to individual needs. Her approach is patient, supportive, and driven by a commitment to nurturing technical proficiency and a profound appreciation for the beauty of music. Miho’s joy lies in witnessing students discover their unique musical voices. Miho is more than an expert piano teacher; she holds a Black Belt in Aikido and has more than 20 years of experience in the art. She also loves to draw in Procreate and has two pet guinea pigs.
