Performance and Teaching Experience

Natalie has performed in various countries and settings as a soloist and collaborative pianist. She accompanies recitals at Levine and regularly performs ensemble music with friends and colleagues.

Natalie has been an active piano teacher in Texas, Maryland, and DC since 2009. She has adjudicated thousands of piano students participating in competitions in Hong Kong, China, as well as in Virginia and Maryland.

At Levine

Natalie joined Levine’s Piano program in 2017 and is actively engaged in creating new curriculum that promotes early interest in general music, solo and ensemble piano repertoire, and music theory. In 2020, she authored and engraved music theory workbooks for Levine Music and developed primer music theory courses for the youngest musicians. Beginning in 2022, Natalie has been training and actively teaching as a private and group Suzuki piano teacher. She works regularly with other Suzuki teachers to help grow and develop Levine’s Suzuki Department across instruments. Also in 2022, she joined the First Music department, teaching special education, preschool, and kindergarten classes at partnership schools in DC. She is currently working with colleagues in the First Music department to develop a Levine-specific curriculum. Natalie helps to organize recitals and teach workshops for Piano Ensemble Fest every year and seeks to collaborate with colleagues across departments as often as possible!

Outside of Levine

When not teaching music, Natalie enjoys spending her time gardening, reading, and being outside with her partner, two children, and dog.

Teaching Philosophy and Approach

My passion is educating young people to appreciate, love, and create music in a positive and uplifting environment. I want my students to enjoy the process of listening, discovering, experimenting, and learning music of all kinds. My goal is to support and guide my students and their families as we work together towards excellence in music study and appreciation.

Favorite Aspect of Teaching at Levine

The faculty at Levine are truly remarkable. I learn and grow as a musician and teacher every time I collaborate with my colleagues!
