Education
Patrick received his BM from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University under the tutelage of Victoria Chiang and his MM and DMA from the Université de Montréal as a student of Jutta Puchhammer. While at Peabody, he also completed Violin/Viola pedagogy studies with Rebecca Henry.
Performance and Teaching Experience
Dr. LeStrange is a member of the Georgetown Chamber Players Orchestra and a former violist with the Binghamton Philharmonic. He frequently appears in chamber music concerts throughout the Washington, DC area and has performed throughout the United States and Canada. He resides in the Northern Virginia area. In addition to his work at Levine Music, Dr. LeStrange also serves as Applied Faculty in Viola at the Dewberry School of Music at George Mason University
An advocate of violin and viola pedagogy, he is in high demand as a masterclass and strings clinician. Many of his students have gone on to study at prestigious conservatories and universities throughout the country. Dr. Patrick LeStrange was formerly a viola teaching artist at Ithaca College Summer Music Academy, the NY ASTA String Institute- Ithaca College, and a guest professor at Binghamton University. At George Mason University, he directed the Summer Viola Boot Camp and has served as a teaching artist for numerous summer programs.
At Levine
Patrick has been on the Levine faculty since 2012 where he teaches private violin and viola lessons and is a honors chamber coach. Patrick is the chair of our Strings Department

When not performing or teaching, Patrick enjoys spending time with his family and his cat.
