About Eric Kutz
Eric Kutz is Associate Professor of Cello at the University of Maryland, where he also serves as Cello Division Coordinator. He joined the faculty in 2015 and is a member of the Left Bank Quartet. His collaborations span classical and jazz worlds, including working with Yo-Yo Ma and Ornette Coleman. Kutz has held faculty posts at Luther College, performed with the Chester String Quartet, and been active as an orchestral musician, chamber artist, and concerto soloist. He has premiered more than two dozen works, and his recordings with the Murasaki Duo have earned critical acclaim. Kutz holds degrees from the Juilliard School and Rice University and performs on a cello by Raffaele Fiorini.
