Recording Jazz Ensemble

This jazz-focused combo is a chance to develop ensemble playing skills while exploring the modern recording process. Working with Levine jazz faculty member James Fernando in an online collaborative setting, we rehearse and record jazz repertoire selected and arranged by the group and instructor.

Over the course of the session, we all participate in creating a finished recording, including rehearsal preparation, tracking, mixing, and mastering. Along the way, we build musicianship, stylistic awareness, and practical knowledge of how today’s musicians create professional-quality recordings remotely and in the studio.

This class combines creativity, technology, and ensemble experience in a unique hands-on format. It’s perfect for instrumentalists and vocalists interested in both jazz performance and music production.
