You may have already noticed: Levine has a new look.
Nearly a year ago, we embarked on a journey to create a new visual identity for Levine – one that would set the stage for celebrating our 50th anniversary in 2026 and serve as the visual foundation for an enhanced web experience. Today, we launch our new logo and website, the culmination of a long and thoughtful project.
Through our process, we spoke to stakeholders across our community about their connection to Levine’s brand. We heard from faculty who spark inspiration every day, supporters who champion our mission across the region, and students and families who are the very heart of our work. We found a flourishing and vibrant community, immensely proud of the illustrious institution we have nurtured together over these past five decades.
Our new logo is an abstract representation of the flow of music, a reference to sound emanating from a source, and a reminder that inspiration always begins somewhere. It is also a visual for the concept of community – a crowd of varying shapes reminding us that a whole is greater than the sum of its parts. And through the crowd, we can see the first letter of “Levine” take shape.
As we refined the technology and user experience of our new website, we had the opportunity to show several people a sneak peek of the new designs. It is amazing to hear what people see in the logo: From “I see piano keys!” to “It reminds me of an orchestra seating chart.” We had a similar experience when we were crafting Levine’s latest strategic plan, Inspire 50, and asked folks to define what “community” meant to them. There was such beauty in how the same concept – and the same organization – could mean so many things to so many people, yet still bring them together through a shared love of music.
Even with the major technological enhancements featured on our new website, including a customized event ticketing system and a vastly improved, searchable course catalog, we find ourselves reflecting on all that remains constant. We are still a supportive community, where everyone can find their rhythm and shape their sound. Levine is where inspiration begins, and where music brings us all together.
We may have a new look, but we have our same love for music.
