Camp Levine MD Campus: Strathmore Teacher Bios

Jason McFeaters has been working with Levine Music for over 20 years, and is thrilled to returning as Strathmore Site Director. He is a member of the the Levine saxophone faculty, and studied at the Peabody Conservatory of Music and the University of Michigan. He regularly performs with the Capital Wind Symphony, the Baltimore Symphony and the District Sax Quartet. Jason is also the choir director and department chair at North Bethesda Middle School in MCPS.

Eli is a rising sophomore at Cornell University majoring in music and economics. He has played the guitar for 13 years and trumpet for 8 years. In his free time, Eli enjoys watching Tottenham Hotspur matches, playing tennis, baking bread, and spending time with friends and family.

Hi! My name is Jade, I use they/them pronouns, and this is my 7th year working with children. During the school year, I am the assistant director of a childcare center, but I used to be an elementary school general music teacher! My first instrument was saxophone, but now I mostly sing and play piano. I love Nintendo video games like Pokémon and The Legend of Zelda, and I also enjoy writing and being outside in nature. I am excited to be joining the Camp Levine team for the first time this summer! 

Ms. Paula Zabel is so glad to be returning to Camp Levine! She has degrees from Macalester College and Westminster Choir College and has worked for Montgomery County Public Schools for many years now. She enjoys ballroom dancing, biking, gardening, but above all, she loves working with music students!

Junghee is currently pursuing her D.M.A. in piano pedagogy at The Catholic University of America. With over 20 years of teaching experience, she has worked with students of all ages and levels. Junghee holds multiple degrees, including a bachelor’s and master’s in music therapy and a bachelor’s in Piano Performance. She is certified in Kodaly education and has a Kindermusik license. Passionate about incorporating students’ musical interests into their goals, Junghee helps them develop their piano and musical skills. Her students have achieved success in piano guilds, competitions, and examinations like RCM. Junghee strives to nurture each student’s potential and tailor lessons to their unique personalities and needs. 

Rebecca Edmiston is a piano instructor dedicated to pedagogy, collaboration, and community engagement. She is currently working on a Doctor of Music degree in Collaborative Piano at Florida State University. A committed educator, she maintains a private piano studio in Tallahassee, FL during the academic year and she is actively involved with Music Teachers National Association. Last summer, she was a PreK teacher at Camp Levine. As a collaborative pianist, she has recently worked at Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan and Music on Site, Inc. in Kansas.

I am an elementary art teacher in MCPS. I have a BFA in Sculpture and Expanded Media and a MAT in Elementary Education. My goal this summer is to support the development of campers creative confidence, artistic identity, and critical thinking and problem solving skills. I plan to accomplish this through a variety of material processes and techniques and providing opportunities for student choice.

Venezuelan guitarist Marbelly Davila found her music inspiration and motivation early, playing any guitar-like instrument available to her like the Venezuelan cuatro and the mandolin. Growing up in a country with a rich musical culture, and listening to many great guitarists, she was quickly propelled toward the realm of classical guitar. Singing has always been an important part of Mrs. Davila’s musical journey as well as collaborating with other musicians, frequently acting as accompanist for choirs on guitar, lute, mandolin or cuatro. Mrs. Davila has performed in numerous guitar ensembles and in orchestras. Recently, she played in the Virtual Guitar Orchestra, where she had the pleasure of performing with one of her guitar idols, Mr. Pepe Romero. Excited by the aspects of teaching, Mrs. Davila has actively participated in the Early Music Education Seminar and Professors Development Workshops at Simón Bolívar University in Venezuela. In the United States, she participated in “Singing circles,” at the New England Conservatory, which focused on the Kodály methodology, and in the Dalcroze Summer Institute at the Longy School of Music. She holds a Bachelor of Music from Peabody Conservatory and a Master of Music from the Catholic University of America. In her free time Mrs. Davila loves playing duets and trios with her children and riding the bicycle.

Fran Revert is a distinguished music educator, composer, pianist, and producer with over 20 years of experience, known for integrating culture and technology into music education. His work spans developing comprehensive music curriculums for all levels and composing and producing music for the animated film “Condorito, The Movie,” which saw significant success in Latin America. His involvement in children’s music, including projects that have earned him a Latin Grammy nomination, showcases his versatility and creativity. Fran’s educational album, “Olé & Play!,” has been praised for its innovative approach to combining music education with entertainment. With a rich educational background from the University of Chichester and Berklee College of Music, Fran excels in music theory, composition, and performance. Based in Gaithersburg, MD, he continues to inspire through his dedication to music education and his significant contributions to the music industry, making a lasting impact on students and audiences alike.

My name is Audrey Fauvel, and I am currently a graduate student at Radford University studying Music Therapy after graduating from VCU with a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Music. Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I love sharing the joy of learning music with others! My classroom motto is “Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Have Fun”! I’m excited to be working with Camp Levine for the summer; let’s put on a great show!
